    @davidwien
    Thanks for the mention and I'm glad you like the purple swamp hen. They're quite common here so I usually avoid photographing them but sometimes they present very nicely.

    Any you're right there are a lot of great images here that can be motivating as well as enjoyable and it's fun to be a part of that.

    Cheers
    Paul

    Paul,

    That's wonderful seeing these photos. Does the Canon R8 accept EF mounted lenses using autofocus with an adaptor?

    Hi @Digirame
    Appreciate your kind comments.
    Yes there is a Canon EF to RF adapter which allows fully functionality on most ef (and also ef-s) lenses. I believe there may be a compatibility list for and features that may not be supported on older EF lenses.
    Some 3rd party lenses may lose functionality but that would be more the change in mount than the adapter.

    I've mentioned that I was surprised that my Tamron (EF mount) 100-400 lens worked as well as it did. I thought I might have to retire it.
    I bought it used about 4 years ago and it was my primary wildlife lens on my Canon RP (yes it was a slow camera but still got some very nice pics with it) and even adapted it to my Fujifilm cameras.
    I'm so glad I can keep using it but I might have to get a 600mm lens down the track.

    Cheers
    Paul

    I like this one a lot - great capture of the light, effective use of color and good composition!

    Beautiful! I like the composition, wonderful reflection, color contrast and the synchronous position is a great bonus.

    Here's a somewhat unusual looking (because backlit-only) flower shot:

    I often thought that forget-me-nots look somewhat alien (with their little tentacles), when you get really close... so I found it somewhat appropriate!

    Paul,

    If the Tamron 100-400mm lens worked with the R8, I was wondering if the Tamron 150-600mm lens would work as well. I've used that Tamron 150-600mm lens for over eight years with Canon DSLR cameras.

    Simplejoy,

    Your flower photos are amazing. You really do a great job because you consider everything in the picture. Not everyone seems to understand that, at least what I have observed over the years. I love the water drops in the second photo. If we don't get any rain for the rest of the season, I may not be able to capture flowers with the raindrops. We are now entering the dry season.

    Steve,

    That's neat that you were able to capture the deer with the camera. Was it at dusk? That's when I commonly find them around where I live in Oregon.

    Some of the foxes over at the Veluwe and other area's in the Netherlands were being fed by people

    The Amstersdamse Waterleidingduinen area is a "great" example......Many foxes at the AWD are semi domesticated, don't get it why people do that.

    @Digirame @HessleHiker @simplejoy thanks.
    @simplejoy I use my Olympus at what everyone tells me is the best colour setting - "natural". I used to spend a lot of time doing RAW processing, but now I generally don't bother, though I still have the RAWs if needed.
