    Steve,

The barn cat looks sweet. Is the cat sociable or afraid of people?

    Dig,

The rodent is a baby groundhog.
The cat is sociable, but only lets you approach within about five feet or so.

Just a visit and a couple pictures from the files using the Canon S90

    Beer.JPG

until recently the S90 was demoted to my car camera but now seems to even have been replaced by the Stylus 1 … wish it had a tilting LCD ...

I want to thank David for inviting me to share a few pictures …. when I moved to digital a while ago I started with the Canon A series and at sometime we added the SX30 … My first posts with DPR were with the Canon compact forum ….. When I went all the way to the DSLR, I went with Olympus and moved over to their forum where Digirame was also active with the 70-300mm lens, as I recall … I've enjoyed my visit but probably will continue to post with the decades old M4/3 thread/ now sub forum as we wait to see how things continue to develop on this and other sites … Drop by the Weekly 4/3 site and post a few pictures … exclusivity has long past so any camera is welcome and we've had a few Canon shooters in the not so distant past …..

    Weekly Roundup

It has been overcast and raining all week where I live and this weather looks like continuing next week, so I have taken no new photos since Sunday. But others have been very active.

Mocha showing us the beauties of Cornwall.

We enjoyed a plethora of fascinating and spectacular airshow photos from Digirame. And that was not all: ducks and many lovely roses. I also presented photos of roses, though not as varied as Dig's, and Simplejoy showed his unique and highly successful and attractive approach to photographing flowers, insects, and man-eating pencils -- with an interesting selection of lenses.

Steve had a tree come down. Luckily it avoided hitting his house; but it provided the opportunity for some interesting shots. Steve also showed us his yucca photos and one of a venerable pecan tree -- plus the cute groundhog and his feline neighbor.

Dunlin visited a stately home and took some great photos from interesting vantage points.

Benjilafouine reminded us of the tragic Canadian wildfires that have spread to the USA, and CarryLight presented a magnificent seascape that just had to be seen full size to appreciate, plus a mysterious mountain.

And right at the end of the week we were joined by WhyNot who also has his own threads here -- about his local Botanical Gardens. Welcome!, and please stay with us!

Living in different parts of the world provides us with a variety of opportunities -- which were well taken this week -- and the comments make this a great group to belong to.

Next week's thread is now open. Please start using it. Have a great week!

    David
