    Dig,

The sand sculptures are amazing -- particularly if the tide erases them every day! Other than the ice carving that I saw in Michigan, I havent seen anything like these elsewhere.

    Great shots!

I had a 5D IV as well, before I switched to mirrorless. It's a great camera, but apart from one feature I find my R5 to be vastly superior. It seems like that's very different depending on what you're trying to do though. For adapted lenses (like I use) mirrorless is usually way more suitable.

Don't have a lot of time to shoot at the moment... but I tried a couple of things:

Have you ever heard of the "Tre cime di Lavaredo"? It's a famous series of moutain peaks in South Tyrol (Italy) and a very popular scene to shoot for landscape enthusiasts. Being somewhat stuck at home (and not much of a landscape photographer in the first place), I've tried to recreate it in a macro range:

    Tre cime... again.

I also took some flower shots at 5x to 10x magnification, to see some of the pollen up close:

and finally got my Macro-Yashinon 60 mm f/2.8 lens out again to shoot a feather:

    Merlot2004,

I was unable to view your photos. Did you delete them? If you did not delete them, you might ask the forum administrators why they were deleted. This forum is very new and was recently developed due to Dpreview's anticipated closure (at the time). Once a few weeks back, when I read the DPrevived "rules" I wasn't sure exactly what they meant. It becomes a matter of interpretation.

    David,

I'm glad you liked the sand sculptures. They have this event at Cannon Beach, Oregon each year.

Your photos are amazing. They are so different than what I would expect to see...great job with the three peaks. 😀

    Thanks Dunlin,

It's a cookout today followed by fireworks tonight.

The last couple of years, we have been going to watch fireworks at a town called, Santa Claus.

    Dunlin,

Thanks. I just came back from a parade. Then there will fireworks later this evening. Some areas have restrictions for that activity due to fire dangers.

That's so cool that you caught the white egret with its wings open.

    David,

Of course.... 😀 I just uploaded them to my computer. It's almost 1:00 pm PST (Pacific Standard Time). I've only been home for about 45 minutes. But I'll give you all one photo to start things off. Then I'll be busy going through the pictures and resizing them for web use.
