I started this thread on on Dpreview many years ago in 2015, and there have been many motorsport photo's, it's not about how good the shots are, or the gear used, but often memories of long gone cars, bikes. boat's and event's with fresh shots of them at places others cant get to.

I was a staff photographer to a guy named Tom Montgomery, and we worked for Competition Press and AutoWeek. The racing circle was small then, and it was great to spend time with Jim Hall, Mark Donohue, Bruce and Denny, Lothar Moschenbacher, Dan Gurney, Parnellli Jones, Sam Posey, and all the greats that came to Laguna twice a year. And the old course was a real challenge.

I've been to a couple times for World Super Bike / MotoAmerica. A lot different than Mid-Ohio, my home track.

Nice to have shots of the corkscrew before and after the recontouring. The old corkscrew was dramatic. I remember the first time I went over it. I was taking pictures and crewing for Jim Herlinger who was racing his Coca-Cola-sponsored Corvette roadster in SCCA A Production. Jim won the race and invited me to climb aboard for the victory lap. Hanging on to the roll bar and dropping into 6A is an experience I'll never forget. I've driven it in 911s in the new configuration. It's an enjoyable corner now, but not as jaw-dropping as it was.
