The price in europe is said to be 4600 EUR, this translate to 3800 USD ... so all people concerned about 5k, should just wait and be happy.
Of course it will perform very similarly to the Z9 but the difference will be visible for who actually never cared for the z8 but wanted a z9 (there are people who bought the z9 as a stopgap to a z8, whatever that means).

They’re still paying $4500 that could have been applied to other kit or business expenses. It’s just that the $4500 is “pre-tax”, reducing the business income for the year.

A price of $3800 / €3400 could work; it depends on how Nikon feels about cannibalizing Z9 sales. Maybe this late after Z9 release they no longer care.

I expect nikon to price x in EUR and x/1.21 in US. Traditionally, Nikon does not adjust for rate changes much and the numbers and tends to always favor US.
If they plan to use rates, then it will be 4200 instead of my expectations of 3600

YES - 18-23% Sales tax (varies by country) - it is called VAT and the exchange rate was USD1.1 to Euro 1.0 when I did my calc to get a USD price of $4,200 plus applicable sales tax. Import duties may also be different between the USA and the EU AND as is typical it "seems to us foreigners" prices for Nikon gear is very much cheaper than even these differences would imply -- I buy from B&H and Adorama ship gear to the UK and it is cheaper (when they are allowed to do this and they are not for new Nikon stock)

Not correct - $4,200. if you deduct 20% for the VAT and use USD 1.10 = 1.00 Euro

Correct, which at the end of the day is not full retail. Our business often makes capital expenditures in the last month of the fiscal year to put us in a more favorable tax position.
