A new forum needs a new place to discuss Z7iii Z8 specs.

With the new nikon logo and their shift to video (see the dpreview CP+ interview while it's up), will it be a box camera for high end video production?
Will it offer 16k video through high speed multi-shot high res?
Will it have a port for connecting a lens warmer, to prevent condensation on your lenses?

Probably not, but it's fun to wonder.

    Hi,

I am still thinking the Z8 will be a slower shooting, higher resolution, variant in the Z9 housing.

I have nothing to point to here, just what I'd be doing were I managing the project. A Pro version of the Z7 to the Z9 being the Pro version of the Z6.

Of course, the PM at Nikon might well have different ideas. As PMs in all R+D shops do vs the other PMs....

    Hi,

All the Z8 posts with any sort of specifications have been a ruse. ;)

All I can say is: Wait For It.....

    Hi,

What I know is: Once we have a Z8 announcement, then speculation threads will begin regarding the Z10.

Is that an upgrade to the Z9?

Or, a entry level model to the Z30?
And, if so, then what will the Z20 be?

    It will never end! ;)

That Z10 would obviously be a really basic DX camera.

I think that you're more than likely right, though it might not have the big battery and grip.

Both things can be true. The Z7 replacement could be called 'Z8'. It depends on just what is the Z8iness of it.

If I got the Nation right...

Pakistani Nikon on its institutional site,
showed up an updated Z's cameras page with a blank slot, between the Z7 and the Z9, but no image,

(Can't remember where I've seen it.)

Nikon is dead, it is a well established fact since 20th century !

The local distributor for nikon in Pakistan (Camtronx) put up a Z8 placeholder page - they aren't actually nikon

If NR is right, taking two years (from dev announcement) to put Z9 internals in a gripless body is not exactly impressive progress on nikon's part

I believe Nikon has chosen what I called my #2 option (fraternal twins, e.g. D3 and D700). This leaves higher pixel count for the eventual Z7 III.

Nikon has been vacillating with new product launch plans. I believe that this is due to image sensor availability. I'm not sure I'm the one who changed their mind. ;~)
