For some time I am using Z7 as my "big" camera. For vacation photography I mostly used smaller cameras such as Fuji XF10 and also X100v. I purchased X100v more out of curiosity about Fujifilm film simulations and due to raving reviews. Lately I wanted to put more focus to Z system, so I purchased second hand Zfc with 28 2.8 kit lens thinking it could replace X100v. Due to size I was not completely happy with that combination and then came 26mm pancake. During last holidays my family went to short vacation to Croatian seaside, to island Cres. I decided to finally "test" Z fc with 26 for intended use. Must say, that I am quiet happy with results. Since I remain mostly RAW shooter, I do not care much for various color profiles and simulations. AF of Zfc is reliable for my use case, camera is portable enough, even for cycling trips. Battery life for me is also more than good enough. I took about 150 photos during 4 days and there is still plenty juice left in a battery. What about Fuji, you ask? Well, I feel it is still very capable camera and maybe more refined one. There are some unique capabilities, such as built in ND filter, hybrid VF, to name a couple. Also, it is slighlty smaller and lighter camera compared to Zfc with 26 2.8. But at the end of the day, I decided to keep Zfc, since I can use other lenses, if I want, I can make it reasonably small when needed and files from it are very good. Mind you, I did not do any head to head tests between X100v and Zfc (lack of time and lazyness, I guess). So, there is every possibility that Fuji can produce sharper images. But from results I got now, I don't have any problem using Zfc with 26 2.8 instead of X100v. And finally, I woud like to share several photos. All edited with DxO PL5. Sharpening was left at default, microcontrast on auto, Clearview on some of them. Resized to 2400px long edge.
