Taken with my iPhone 13 in my back garden down by my woodworking/mechanic shop. I thought it was interesting.
I would take Maxtech videos with a huge grain of salt. The pixel 7 pro has a much better zoom camera than the 14 pro max. I think they got too close to the gecko or focused on something else. They are apple fanboys to the nth degree and will do anything to make apple come out on top however they can. NOT a great video to use for an unbiased view.
I have two pixel 8 pro's coming for DW and I. She's a little reluctant to leave the iOS sphere. I am happy to do so. I said, my iPhone 13 will be my last iPhone. I am holding to it. We have been using iPhones since the 4s with a little stint in between with the windows mobile devices (which I loved). Got the 6s, 8, 11, and now the 13. Nothing has been really new or WOW for us. It's the same regurgitated phone with little things done to make it "ALL NEW".
With the pixel 8 pro, we get great AI features for everyday life like call screening, recorder summarize (awesome for DW's long droning on meetings she has to take minutes for), and a host of other awesomeness. The option to make our home screens, icons, etc look the way WE want is a nice feature too. I am artsy and creative so I like switching up the look of things frequently. On iPhone, You have to jump through 11 rings of hell to do it and it takes HOURS as well. One flick of a button on the Pixel (or any android device), you have a fresh new phone look to keep you wanting to use it.
There are alot of other reasons as well, like better interoperability with our computers, tablet etc as well.
We will find out soon enough. 😉
I mostly use DPReview now for looking at camera models/lenses/etc. and the scattered discussion about PCs. I posted on photo in the mobile photography page because I wanted to see what people thought about it. I am going to be all in on here for discussions etc now. The time has come to move on from there and living in the revived world!
Sneaky keeping the phone really low! I like it!
Thank you for the kind words. The green stuff is ground moss. Like walking on soft carpet. We will discuss that soon if that's ok. I am starting to take my photography seriously now, and I am trying to parlay that into making a living using my images. But let me think about it and I will shoot you a private message. Again, thanks for taking a liking to it!
Steve.
Here is another photo I took yesterday, behind my house. This scene caught my eye. don't know if it's any good or not. I like it. Edited in Polarr again, Crop was used, the original was a 3x4 wide shot. I think this crop is much better. Then I added a landscape filter under the Japan group in filters. I like Polarr for quick edits. It with the iPhone are a match made in heaven, I think personally.
The little P330 has some low light chops! Great shot!
100 percent gem.
I am going back to film "looking" images. This is one of them. Great work.
I am getting tired of over processed, stupid sharp digital looking digital photos. I am returning to the old gear, and actual Film. It has soul and life.
Another amazing set Mark. Montreal is the most "European" of any city in North America. We LOVE it there. Even though we haven't even been to 3/4 of the city yet, just the downtown core.
Amazing images marc. I remember being on St Catherine street in the night with my oldest son and wife, and our friends. We were up to see a few games at the Bell Centre. We were walking and it was a beautiful evening. The nightlife was bustling and vibrant. We stopped at the arts building? I have a photo of it somewhere here, but once we past that area, the vibe changed. There were people who were so out of it on drugs they started chasing us. I am a protective person, so I hustled my wife and son back out of that area quickly. Montreal continues to be one of our favorite cities in Canada. Coming from small town Newfoundland where there really is no "homeless" people here, it was an eye opener for sure!.
My outlook on all people have changed ALOT since then. I will make a point now to say hello to someone who is down on their luck for whatever reason. The world could use ALOT more humanity these days!
