The thread was locked at 140 on the grounds of 'trending towards uncivil' and 'subject covered'. As a matter of fact the most uncivil in the last posts was an observation the suspicion that the OP was sailing under a false flag to make click bait. Seems he got away with it.
BTW: don't think the poster who became an unknown member was vanished, but rather that he came to the realization that he was being tricked in that thread and had enough of it.
To my (limited) understanding the ‘electrical’ changes extend only over part of the range. Over and under that, changes are digital. At some point, images at that setting do no longer completely meet the quality level the camera maker sets. There are several points where the camera maker can make choices applying the standard, this is one
Last week I went to an exhibition of Van Gogh's last works [in the Museum named after him]. Last means from the period after his release from the St Remy mental institution untill his death two months later. The only exhibition I've ever seen BTW that comes with adresses for the suicide helpline.
He was very prolific, creating several pieces per day, mostly landscapes, some portraits. Maybe it was a form of self-medication for him. But I think the desperation and depressedness show. Especially in the color palettes for the landscape that lack all warmth.
Thanks for all the work, it's looking much better!
Couple o things:
- I thought the mf43 forum would go as the potential users preferred going to brand forums?
- I can no longer see the beta testers forum, a matter of permissions or has it been abandoned?
- it's a choice but we now have a very popular 'image discussions' forum within the 'news' category and also a category 'photographic genres'. Seems a bit lopsided and seeing also the discussion about the 'weeklies' something for future consideration
You cannot personally change the sun, but the change happens over time of day, day of year and location. And yes, you take these changes into account, even if implicitly
So "ISO"is at best a [distant] fourth variable.
Yes I think it would be better if things were organised around the mount, not the brand: camera, lens and adapter that can be used together. Logical, not hierarchical. But I'm obviously in the minority, so be it
So where is someone to go who wants to use a Sigma lens for L on a Panasonic L and a Leica L camera (all these exist, even though not in huge numbers)..?
Looking at the exif of this HDR:
- contrast +100
- texture +100
- clarity +50
Seems like over the top processing [the maker said it was an experiment], once more not an example of the infamous worms
I see now. Does not seem like a great place to me. What we might hope for is discussion of the use of a phone as a camera and I would be looking for that under Equipment, not OS. But then IMO as photographers we might want to have conversations about hardware [what computer or printer] and not so much about the OS.
PS: I think the name 'post processing workflow' could be shortened, to Processing and workflow. Or lengthened, to post capture processing software. Or maybe 'Photography software
I agree with the suggestion about 'bridge and compact cameras' as the new place for, well bridge and compact camera. These would be from the excel:
Canon PowerShot Talk
Fujifilm FinePix Talk
Panasonic Lumix S Talk ???
Leica Compact Camera Talk
Nikon Coolpix Talk
Olympus Compact Camera Talk
Panasonic Compact Camera Talk
Pentax Compact Camera Talk
Sony Cyber-shot Talk
Casio Talk
Kodak Compact Camera Talk
Hope I've seen them all. Some of them are currently empty. As are the pots and the pets, so no worries. But there is nothing for images that don't fit in a genre?
