In Micro Four Thirds Talk I posted a reply to IsabelCutler in a thread titled "EM 10ii Targeting Pad Keeps Turning Off". She acknowledged my reply with a post. Both of those posts disappeared. I now posted another reply which does appear in that thread. I don't recall deleting my original post but I suppose it is possible that I did it unknowingly. If not, there is a bug of some sort.

EDIT: Ignore the above comment...Isabel posted the same question with the same title on another website and that is what I replied to earlier. Sorry for the confusion.

Not sure if this is a bug or something in my settings but Firefox doesn't seem to be seeing the field I type into as being a text box with multiple lines of text. Therefore there is no spelling checker active. Which is annoying.

David, I assume that Firefox has a built in spell checker. Correct? And it "knows" when you are typing in a text box.

This may be a function of the reply box - I know we want to update it so it is much more functional. Maybe that's the time to revisit this issue.

[Edit] I also use Firefox and have checked that spelling is enabled as I type. I tried this in a sptandard phpBB forum and it didn't work there either. So, there may not be anything we can do from here.

Here's an easy one: If you click on the little downward arrow button in the top right corner of a post, you're currently presented with the option to create a "Permament link". The misspelling is also in the message window that opens up when clicking it.

You are right I just checked in another forum I use. In that one I only write a sentence or two and hadn't noticed the lack. Here my replies can be more extensive. I may have to look at other browsers.

Luckily I can do movements myself now.

Opps! my misunderstanding. I had the English language pack installed but not an English dictionary. Therefore selecting the spell check enabled box, didn't do anything. I loaded the add-on, and now have a working spell checker in forums.

Where is this set? I've checked in settings in Firefox and can set the language but can't see anywhere to install a dictionary.

It's an add-on addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/language-tools/ I chose the British-English Dictionary (GB). Quickly installed seems to work fine.

Not sure if it's a known bug or my misunderstanding of the forum interface. I understand email notifications on the new posts are not working and it's a known issue.
However in trying to enable non-email notifications by subscribing to threads and can't seem to find those notifications. The button changes its status to 'subscribed' but the subscription doesn't seem to affect any of the menus/lists on the forum. An I missing something obvious or it's a work in progress?
    Thank you!

It's sure to be a WAD, but nonetheless a serious bug in my view (or perhaps a configuration issue?).

I just signed up, gave an email address*, and I'm in. No check on the validity of the email. Unless you guys really like spam, you should do something about that.

    *a valid one ;)

    Right, great, thank you.
Is it somewhere in the mobile version too? I lose this drop down list when I switch the browser to mobile view on the phone.

No the button doesn’t show on mobile, but apparently if you rotate into landscape it does. You can also bookmark the link: dprevived.com/threads/subscribed/

Yes it works that way, thanks. I think it can be considered a bug (that it's not there in portrait orientation on mobile).

Strictly speaking it's not a bug, looking at the code - that button is inside a section with a style class of "hidden-xs" - which means it gets hidden on small screens (xs = extra small) so it was a conscious decision in the forum software.

A fairly easy change, but I'm not that familiar with the platform being used here and how they're managing changes.

Is there any way to convince the system that I've read/seen posts in a thread, so that clicking the blue box doesn't take me back to the same post each time, which post is ever farther from actual new posts? For example, I always go back to dprevived.com/t/the-exposure-triangle-is-misleading-and-unnecessary/1602/2/#post-12445 in that long thread, despite having read to the end many times and even posted later.

I realize this is a known bug - I'm just wondering if there is a work-around until it's fixed.
