Just signed up to Flickr and wanted to see if the Flickr embed option works for photos and how it differs to uploading them direct.

Edit: interesting, the preview looks decent and clicking takes you to the Flickr gallery, the picture is in. To add the image I clicked the share button and went to the BB code option, and copied and pasted it into this post. This seems to work pretty well.

    Compare with:
Resized in apple photos and uploaded:

    Results for- blossom - 1 of 1.jpeg

    Edit:
The Flickr preview is substantially better than the upload I think. may go the Flickr route and create a gallery just for uploads to here :)
only draw back on clicking them, the uploaded photo is substantially larger than you can view the Flickr one, so that's worth considering too

Interesting as I tried some of the other Flickr Share codes and it would not work.

had the same issue, but the BB code copied directly worked really well here. The handy thing is the preview post button on this forum, all the other ways I tried to embed the link caused a box with a question mark, but the BB Code share option worked first time. I like that it results in a larger preview too.

What did you do to achieve this ? Just copy the Flickr code and paste ?

    I did the following:
    Clicked Share button
selected the last option BBcode (far right)
    set the size to large ( 2048 x 1365)
    copied the code text
    pasted straight into the post
you can click preview to see how the post will look then go back to edit to post.

Just sharing the link didn't work for me, (got the box with a question mark) but the BBcode worked really well.

Thanks. Good to know and happy that works. An improvement on old DPR

Where were your cherries taken ? I'm in Belge and we used to have flowering cherries the first few days of May. Now ours is out mid March

Thanks for sharing your findings. Perhaps worth making a tutorial to how to upload and post images on the forum and if possible, one of the staff could make it a sticky?

Trying the same with my 500px account that I had abandoned 10 years ago:

Tbilissi, Georgia, with the D800 that I had in 2012

That was in Tbilissi, Georgia, with the D800 that I had in 2012.
It doesn't load the full size picture here, need to play with this a bit more.

No probs :D Glad it worked. Lovely Cherry Blossom there :) These were taken in London UK back in 2021, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of Cherry Blossoms this year, it's been a pretty chilly never ending winter over here in the UK. :(
