    I finally wrestled PL7 to the ground kicking and screaming and it is no longer polluting my image file with the sidecar files. There set up is not the most obvious around. But it works it seems.

    How would you normalize color saturation, John?

    I use the GIMP and can edit saturation-only in HSL or HSV ... or chroma-only in CIE LCH.

    Then I could compare the degree of similarity by using 'difference' blending in Layers ...

    I couldn't compare the degree of similarity by using 'difference' blending in Layers because Alan posted the images at different sizes.

    The images were just screen grabs. If you want the originals, I can post them - but they may be on my system at home (I need to check) and it's shut down.
