DPR - has anybody opened a book yet ?

I was thinking about it referring to opening an electronic book which is a part of that site. As if something about that has become broken as of late. ;)

I don't pay any attention to the reviews or other content they generate. I used to follow a greater number of forums, but that is down to only two now. So, I thought I had missed something gone wrong.

I'm still there, infesting just the Tech and the Sigma Fora, neither of which see much traffic here.

i find the tech forum very controled now as well, theres a new guy posting thats pushing everyones knowledge limit atm. but its just the same old same old, after buying the x100vi its made me realise that tech has hit a wall and enjoying the fun factor, image content without having a sterile look to images. the lens and sensor from the x100vi are first class and im loving the optical vf. the af system is right up there with sony as well, but it should be its a sony sensor 😊

There's a whole lot of "Just you wait and see" getting thrown around, but without threaded Forums included, expectations are low. I wish them well, but they chose to ignore their Users, so where it all ends up is anyone's guess.
I note with interest that Gear Patrol is now a "sister site", two's a crowd ?

The site revamp is supposed to take another week. I had not seen the revamped site.

The revamped DPR is now live, 9 July.

ive lost interest in the constant rambelings of the same subjects, or maybe my new x100vi just perchased for candids has stole the show, but in all honesty im currently building myself (hands on) a rental property ( 6 months in ) as soon as its finished im retireing 😊 a self funded old fart 😁 65 now and time is slipping by.

looks good mate, I just was away for a week in my van and seeing the people living in caravans/motor homes as there primary reasidents i just had to build myself another home so i wouldnt be in that position. also will set my daughter up for life to live the life i lived in a better economy when i was her age at 23.

in our company we had 3, which is probably a standard in the industry :
-a production system,
-a development system for the programmers,
-and between these two systems there's a quality testing system for "extended business user" testing.

We considered this to be a business critical system and so it just had to work .
Putting changes directly into the production system was unthinkable.

I have mostly given up on DPR.

I still go to DPR and post Sunday Cat! links hoping I can get some folks to come here. (My success rate is about zero.) But the most recent changes are really an issue. They no longer list the Olympus SLR forum, which is the one I still visit, under the forums link. You have to go to some other forum, then click on camera companies to find it. I've noticed a significant drop in traffic since they did that (no posts at all for more than a day.) Little chance of someone discovering it. Just the regulars who know it's there. Then a feature I visited the site for regularly is gone now. The camera and lens comparisons that you could do. I liked to put the stats side by side to figure out things about them. I think you can compare two at a time, maybe more, but not in the way you could before nor is what they have now as easy to use as it was. I've never had a post deleted, but maybe because I pretty much lived in the Olympus SLR forum. The food fight was always going on in the Micro Four Thirds forum.

It seems to be back.
