Don't worry - this means that today is the voting day and about 24h (+/-6h or so) after notice posted the contest will be closed. Timezones are hard :)
I think it doesn't matter anymore. In my area it is April 15th at 8:08 PM. You can decide what is going to be done. I don't think there can be any significant surprises on the editing side. Let the forum management decide when the voting session closes and in what time zone.😀
You will close voting when it is right time for you - no problems from our side.
I too think all edits are done and some votes are not registered yet - all users are invited to click on LIKE button or two for the best version to win!
The pair of this particular image is lost, but I found another pair taken from the same position, oriented slightly differently.
Unfortunately, in this pair, the image on the left was compromised in the dark areas. Because of this, the resulting image was too "harsh" and harder to match with the one on the right, but the 3D effect is very visible and does not compare to what results from 2D to 3D conversions, which in the case you obtained is very far from reality.😀
Just for fun, I created a 3D image (based on your idea) from different images from same collection, but compatible for 3D. It looks good on 3D devices and highlights the depth of the green-lit pool of water that you noticed.😀
And the winner is,... ErikWithaK
This was a impressive edit, well done !
Here is the winning entry:
In my opinion, AlanSh made an equally successful edit, but turned it upside down. Speleothems have different characteristics between stalactites that grow from the top down and stalagmites that grow from the floor up, and they might look unnatural in an inverted position. But from an artistic point of view, the chosen formula is interesting.👍
Thanks to all the participants! Interesting ideas and nice work!
ErikWithaK will host next round of "Edit me an image,...." contest.
