I've done some basic updates of the home page here download.dprevived.com/home.html

Not quite as neat as SJ's examples above, but I have to ensure it works on all screen sizes and types. So, I keep it simple if possible.

I will continue messing around and will introduce some other stuff - but does that look OK for you?

    Alan,

On my iPad the photos you have added take up six pages. On the iPhone, the photos are smaller, but I still have to do the same amount of scrolling.

On the desktop it takes 1.3 pages.

In my opinion, the landing poage shouild be one page.

Furthermore, the links are all off site. We need to link to our own material preferentially on the front page.

I thought we had agreed on all this.

    Best,

    David

May I suggest that the items in the drop down menu in the header are added to the ‘Quick Jumps’ list and the menu removed (in the name of consistency and simplicity?

The menu takes up very little room at the top - just three horizontal lines. So, I can't see that making that much difference and, on a phone layour, it's very useful.

    David,

That's why I have the quick jumps. Plus the links to the discussions are to our own site. On my ipad it's about 2.5 pages. How did you get 6? There is no way I would want everything on one page. it would look awful on different devices and a real pain to manage.

I know nothing about how the iPad works, so I cant explain it. The model I have is A1895.

Here is a screenshot, which shows it is only a part of one of your photos.

That is very strange. There is no way that picture should be full size.

Can you click on this link whatismyviewport.com/and tell me what the answer is?

The answer (on the iPad) is

It’s not a major issue - I just think it looks cleaner. Also, to get to the fora is one extra click…

I cannot reproduce the issue where that photo (which is embedded in a layer) comes out as full size. This is what I see with the sizes set as above:

Then, scrolling down to almost the end

    Excellent evolution. Congratulations.
When is the "landing page" going to become the index page?
    Kindest regards,
    Stany

Thank you for the kind words.

It becomes the "index" page when I can get hold of the domain name and sort some things out. I can't give you a timescale just yet. For now, bookmark "thephoto.uk" as your index page and it will all just work.

I did nothing - but I bet you were looking just as I was doing a load of updates. So the CSS wouldn't match the html - and who knows what would happen.
    Anyway, I'm glad it's OK.

    cheers

Thanks for the excellent update. I'm a dprevived-fan again.

    If I type : (https://) www.thephoto.uk I get this:

    www.debiljartkrant.be/1-1-VARIA/Schermafbeelding 2023-11-27 121111.jpg

    If I type (http://) www.thephoto.uk it works.
