    Welcome all to the better late than never edition of the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. With the announced shuttering of DPReview (which did not happen), the last Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! landed here at its new home on 9 April 2023.

    Free Kitty of the Week!

    Big Kitty

    Really! ;)

    As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us."

    “Official” posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don’t accidentally double post.

    Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras welcome. Images from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge where nice comments abound and only constructive criticism is given when it's requested.

    The Sunday Cat! is now open for business. :D

    Last week's purrs, #836 / DPRv #29

    Thread Manager's Corner:
    Thanks again for the wonderful images and stories. My computer may not be doing very well (no video earlier today) but the kitties seem to be, with a few qualifications (hoping for the best with Cathy!) Now as we enter the last week of October, change (time change) is in the air for many, either this weekend or next. Don't forget to set the camera clock, or use Lightroom later to correct it. ;)

    ~~~ Kim
    Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.
    Hi,
    This is Pepsi. She was an earlier Shop Cat at the screenprinting shop. She wound up in a customer's car, unbeknownst to the customer when they left. She popped out when they got home and then ran off. So, another Lost Kitty.
    Lexi's attention is caught by anything that moves. He was up on the kitchen counter when a small lizard was moving across the screen. I'm sure he was thinking, if that is the word, "why can't I get a hold of that lizard" I moved the lizard to a safe place in the garden and Lexi went back to standing watch by the back door. The photo of the tiger in the free kitten box was seen on a facebook page if I remember correctly- somewhere on the tangled web.
    It looks like someone was brought out of the reverie with the sound of a camera from behind (or perhaps a call for attention). Your kitties always have a sense of consciousness about them. :)
    I had a kitty who liked to explore the inside of other people's cars. Fortunately, she never did go for a ride! She also explored other people's basements, but that's a different story.
    These cats meet thousands of people every day.
    Many people want to photograph them with all kinds of tricks.
    They don't react to it, waiting for the right moment is the only option.
    Alex looks like he is in his place, on his terms. :)
