Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly online community gathering on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday,e except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

    Sentinel Kitties of the Week!

Stripey and Tiger, guarding access to their kingdom. ;)

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may will almost always vary to accommodate my schedule. :) I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras, all cat fanciers welcome! Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Tales of their lives or adventures. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Last week's purrs, #968 / DPRv #160 / Sunday Cats! #60

    Thread Manager's Corner:
Last week we had some fun with different flavors of catitude, bird watching, pickets, waiting to be served a morning nip, a birthday kitty and a kitsch kat. We also had a visit from a sorrowful dog that unfortunately does not get to live the life of the Street Cats of Istanbul. But more importantly, there was much discussion in this thread about the future of DPRevived / The-Photo. If somehow you've missed it, please take a look and consider contributing to keep this site active, which seems to be the preference of many. And now we return to our normal programming. :)

    Mokey, where are you?
As it turned out he was hiding in the bathroom sink.
    Strange place I'd say.
Actually, Lexi was chasing him around the house, Mokey had
enough and the sink seemed to be a good place to escape or rest.

Our cat loves sleeping in the Bidet when it is hot. It is nice and cool.

    Hi,

Ah, yes. This kind of Cat would require a new thread. Since they are used for work, maybe call it Monday Cat.... :P

I have a lot of these kind of Cat photos. I live near a place called Ederville. Home to the annual Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owner's Club reunion.

The eyes are such a beautiful thing to photograph. And mirrorless has given new life to old manual focus lenses. Of course our cats can make this challenging by moving the moment you think you've got good sharp focus. ;)

I took this one before Palmer learned that all he had to do was move around in order to disrupt my photography.

He looks a little concerned to have been found out! I like the silvery edges of his grey fur, giving better definition of his body.

So does he get out of the way when you need to use it?

Around here we have the Haggin Museum (although their website seems to be down right now, nor can I find my photos taken there). Last year they had a special exhibit for the 100th anniversary of Holt Caterpillar. Here's a link to a video about it. Maybe the link to the museum will be working tomorrow.
