Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly online community gathering on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday,e except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras, all cat fanciers welcome! Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Tales of their lives or adventures. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Thread Manager's Corner:
It was a week of absence for me. Meanwhile however, the kitties came roaring back and then some. Thank you all! They all had something interesting to say. I do have some images still in the camera that I need to load into LR and work on. I hope to finally have some time for that tomorrow and make fresh contributions of my own. Posting a little early today as I'll be away most of the evening. I'm looking forward to what might transpire in the days ahead. ;)

    Hi,

So. We have a new arrival. Probably by car, down the dirt road, and out a window.

A little boy, and it is time to remove a couple parts from his rear end. So,.off to the vet next week.

He showed up way skinny and very hungry. Two weeks ago. Now he is looking a lot better. And he managed to become friendly as all get-out.

We don't intend to keep him. My wife has a friend with a thing for black cats. However, we will get him taken care of first.

    My wife named him Onyx.

That is the used cat litter bin. The original lid broke up long ago. A serving tray fits nicely, though. This is out in the workshop where all the cutting, drilling, painting and such on gourds occurs. No lid can keep all that smell in for a week, so it is out where everything smells. We have to haul our own to the dump out here in the country. And Wednesday was the day for that. And I left the lid propped up alongside the can.

Little Onyx has flopped it down and used it for a bed. Ha! I ought to call him Little Minx....

    Anyway another free kitten.

Right up until she decided, that's close enough! Mr. Me had his moments too. Eventually, as he got older he had them less often.

I'd call it a "free" in quotes kitten since you'll be paying for his surgery. He is also a lucky black cat to have found you. :) He looks very pleased with himself for finding a better purpose for the lid! ;)

    Hi

Yep. The 3 kittens were 'free' as well. And they had a virus. Easily cured for a fee. Three fees. Then the 'fixing', also easily done for more fees. Oh, yeah. Free, with quotation marks, Kittens, indeed.

Just a reminder shot of those three 'free' kittens before the fees kicked in. :)

And, left to right, that is Doris, Sammy and Jack.

My wife had come in with a single cat carrier. Out came Samantha, then Doris and finally, Jack. At the moment she took that shot, I was wondering just how many more were going to come out of that carrier and onto my lap! P
