Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly online community gathering on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007, making this week's Sunday Cat! the start of its 19th year! Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. And that makes it my 10th anniversary with the Sunday Cat! 😀 When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, because we couldn't let it disappear, the last regular Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! found refuge here on 9 April 2023.

    Twisty Kitty of the Week!

    Micio

Micio gave us a dignified twist, while Arni gave us an unabashed one. ;)

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your pictures and stories of your feline companions with us."

"Official" posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time will almost always vary to accommodate my schedule. :) I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don't accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras, all cat fanciers welcome! Digital cats or silver halide cats, cats of metal, or cats of the wilderness. Big cats, small cats, kittens and their toys. Cats of pen and ink, cats of brush and canvas, from any time, any place. Tales of their lives or adventures. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge to enjoy and marvel at the magic of cats, where positive comments abound and constructive criticism is given if requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for mischief. :D

    Last week's purrs, #987 / DPRv #179 / Sunday Cats! #79

    Thread Manager's Corner:
First off, thanks to all who come here to post and view. Without you, there would be no reason for this thread to exist! And thanks to all who accepted a Sunday Cat! hat in celebration of this thread. (I know some are still in transit at this time.) It makes it all the more special. :) Now on to Sunday Cat! Edition 19. :D

It looks like a moment of high intensity where the chase has ended because Wesley has captured the flag! :D

You may remember that late last year my good friend Lynne died, and at that time I was unable to take in her cat Eleanor, because of Mr. Me's medical issues. Thus, I brought Eleanor to some friends to take care of her. Eventually the time came for her to be with me. The other Saturday when I was unable to post, I went and picked her up, so she's been here a little over a week now. There is a lot I need to learn about her, and her about me. We're trying to figure that out just now! ;) But that means there will be new pictures to show. Here are a couple of OOC images from the last week. :)

    6D-#IMG_6487-214-48.JPG

She discovered the cat tree pretty quickly, especially after I started stocking it with treats on the various platforms.

    6D-#IMG_6516-214-77.JPG

This is another shorter cat tree by the back door. She discovered it recently and after her visit to the vet on Saturday, decided to make that her place to sulk, although she was more comfortable by the time I took this photo.

It's good to have a kitty again, especially one who is sweeping up all the cobwebs in the places that are hard to get to!

Good to see you have taken in your friends cat. I am sure she will settle in well.

Mr Me looked just like Micio. Eleanor, looks very much like Tiger, our first cat, who adopted us many years ago.

Micio and myself, thank you so much for the celebratory hat. I needed a new one for my hikes. Perfect.

Wonderful! I'm glad it got there so quickly. Looks like Micio approves. ;)

    Hi,

Looks like they are on top of things. :)

Around here, they like the canopies on the ROPS of tractors. Higher. And, the higher, the better. It is quite the distance from the hood to the canopy, but they all jump up there anyway.

No cat up there in this shot, but just showing the distance from the hood to the canopy.

Onyx sure is one black kitty! I might be seeing a few non-black hairs here and there but he's really got the black cat part down. ;)

Maybe they thought they could sneak up on the birdies on the dashboard that way? :)

They definitely gravitate to or rather defy gravity in seeking the high ground. All china cabinets should beware along with wardrobes, refrigerators and the top of open doors!
