I bought a Nikon PB4 bellows unit in as "new condition" for very little, and decided on getting a Nikon 55mm f/2.8 AI-s to use on it. I found an "as new" copy of this lens too for a very good price. The reviews I found for the Nikon 55mm f/2.8 AI-s were all pretty positive, but I did not expect to find this lens so bitingly sharp. I believe it was the last AI lens to go out of the Nikon catalogue. I have been playing around with it, using my cactus plants. Below are some first attempts with this lens.

I have gathered together its accessories. The PK13 extension tube, the BK3 lens hood to use when the lens is reveres, and an new old stock Nikon revering ring. Ebay is still a great place if you are very careful and patient to find some great kit at interesting prices.

For €180 this lens is sure to become one of my favourites. I find it almost as sharp as my Z105 macro, and it has a lovely rendering. A remarkable lens seeing that it was designed in the 1980's.

Just a test shot of the balcony.
