    The Nikon D1X DSLR (2001)

In 2001, Nikon introduced two new cameras to replace its Nikon D1, which was released in September 1999

The two superb Nikon D1H and D1X

The Nikon D1X stands out for its unique horizontal interpolation method, which delivers higher resolution than the Nikon D1H, a model designed more for speed.
It features a Nikon DX APS-C CCD sensor with 5.3 effective megapixels and a resolution of 3008 x 1960 pixels
It also offers a burst rate of 3 frames per second and a sensitivity range of ISO 125 to 800

The D1x was, above all, a camera designed primarily for professional photographers.
It competed directly with the Kodak DCS 760 and 720x from the same era, as well as with the famous Canon EOS-1D.

Over the years, I’ve done several comparisons with my D1x—six so far.
If you’re interested, feel free to take a look.

I'm always interested in your comments or experiences with any of these cameras, which are among the pioneers of DSLRs

I love reading about these. I do wonder what you are doing about todays cameras, which may become classics in 25 years time
