Two mountainsides.
I enjoy the textures and colours of mountainsides in autumn/winter illuminated by the low angle light.

From Bealach Na Ba on the Applecross peninsula in NW Scotland. A chilly morning in the week before Christmas. The previous day had seen a terrific cloud inversion and i was hoping for more, but that day it was much weaker, though still revealing Skye's Cuillin mountains standing above the clouds. But it was this nearer hillside that really caught my eye.

A similar sort of shot from the french Alps in autumn. I liked the way the dusting of first snow reveals more of the texture and contrasts with the colourful slopes. An occasional patch of weak sunlight gave the impression of the mountain being lit from within.
