    Nostalgia

I have nothing new to contribute this week, but I have been lookingback at places I have been in the past at this time of year and feeling rather nostalgic.

This image speaks of summer, I almost can smell this blossom field. Interesting clouds behind mountain top.

    Some birds

Haven't been photographing anything interesting lately as weather is not so cooperative. So here are shots from 2 weeks ago when we had sun and I visited bird sanctuary. Unfortunately it seems that bearded reedlings are dead from this 2-month long cold we had in January-February, they are nowhere to be seen or heard, so it may take year or two until population restores and I got to shoot them... But I got some other shots of birds.

Sad to hear about the Reedlings. Nature can be brutal, but I liked this chap singing.

Last w/e of March I decided to make a small trip (60 km) north of the city to Lake Simcoe, Ontario. What I encountered is typical Great White Frozen North landscape still in a grip of winter. The weather was very changeable , but I managed to capture few sites.

I once flew over the Frozen North. It went on forever. I like this one.

    My First Camera

This was my first reflex camera, that I bought back in 1975. It served me well on a trip all round France by rail, and other adventures. It still works, unlike the Nion FM 2 that replaced it.

This is a relic that I probably picked up in Portobello Road, back in the day. I would hate to use this thing to take pictures.

A nice capture of a very nice place. Beautiful cedar trees! It reminded me of this place; there were many cedar trees and sequoia trees.

You're finding some real form lately. Superb composition and the simple blue/orange colour palette adds something to what would normally demand a mono presentation.

Thanks for your nice comment. I converted it to BW first, but I found colour stronger. UWA lenses really give compositions and opportunities. I will get one, but I don't know which one it will be: a mFT or an L-Mount FF?

Pentax are nice cameras. Time to time I get itchy to use film. I have three working film cameras ( I mean they must be working, light-meters , shutters, etc., work fine) but never used them. They are all gifted to me: Nikon FE2, Canon AE1, and Ricoh (can’t remember the model). Ricoh has a K mount and uses Pentax lenses as well. Perhaps I should try one day.

One will be a lot cheaper I'd think.

mFT 7-14 f4 £359 MPB vs L-mount 14-28 f4-5.6 £429 grey market brand new, so there is not much difference. I think I will get L-Mount. More MPX and FF. But not now, I have just bought a Vespa :) I don't have much cash left ;)
