One of the hans in Istanbul. These hans house several small-scale manufacturing businesses. On that one, a young man was polishing something.

Very good indeed. The face is nicely lit and there's a nice sense of mystery.

Some birds and other furries
Last Sunday I lost my sleep at 6:30 after seeing a nightmare and after rolling bit in bed I decided to go out to nearby park with my camera with hope to photograph some birds. Start was not promising as I heard birds but could not get any shots but after hour or so things improved and after 2 hours I came back with about dozen shots worth of keeping.

Getting Close

I have been playing with Macro photography this week. On Sunday I went to see if the Orchid season had started. I also played around with my pencil collection.

Canossa with the Nikon 55 2.8 AiS Macro. This lens is so sharp and renders so well. I wonder how many "old" lenses are worth searching out.

These are lovely! Much better than lying awake in bed! Sadly, we don't have red squirrels here, although there are some just a few miles away. Only alien greys in our garden, which vandalise the fruit bushes and steal the bird food (if the rats don't get it first) 😒

Ah! Orchid time! It will be a couple more weeks here.
At first glance that first pencil image looked like some kind of menacing insect... They've seen plenty of use by the wear on them.

Difficult to spot, but once you see the outline, it becomes obvious. Superb.

A charming collection. I like the composition of this, with the bird hanging from the branch.

The orchids are nice but this really took my eye. A beautiful thing.
