II recently bought another GM5, now I own 2 of them and in total it is my 3rd GM5 😎 This one is red, which I’ve always wanted a red or olive green. It was advertised as spares and repairs because it doesn’t turn on. Someone else won the auction but refused to pay. He offered me the GM5 instead. It actually works perfectly, just with a 700 shutter count. It only needed a full battery. Unfortunately, it has a dead internal battery. The GM5 I sold had the same problem but after I left it with a full battery for a while it came back to life. If it doesn’t work I’ll replace its internal battery. It’s a simple procedure and I have a friend who’s very good with electronics repairs.

This is a SOOC shot, I used its Dynamic Monochrome filter.

I am adding another version, I edited this from the RAW file

    Strange Flowers

I went up into the foothills above Reggio to see how the Orchid season is shaping up.

I found a Ophrys Bertolonii Moretti Orchid growing near Canossa last year. I returned to see if it was present this year. Yes, three plants were growing. I missed them on my first passage along the footpath, I saw them on my way back.

I think colour works better. Nice series.

Mine has the same problem. A simple solution to replace the capacitor in theory but the GM5 is so tiny I imagine it flying apart like a jack-in-the-box as soon as you remove the first screw.
A combo of these two fine shots would work better for me with the foreground of #1 added to the lighter centre of #2.

As beautiful as the orchids are, I prefer the cactus shots.
And I like to see how you did it. I often contemplate a macro lens but don't think I'd get much use from it.

    Cartmel Woods

A little outing exploring some local woodland. The mixture of ancient woodland and craggy rocks sticking up through it makes for some interesting pictures - to me anyway!

This is a pretty interesting structure. In laminated timber by the looks of it.

Yes, this type of landscape is always interesting. My pick is the last shot.

Looks like you have endless interesting walks around your new home.

These UWA distortions in bottom corners are bit distracting but this seems to be necessary evil to get whole "mushroom" into frame. I like the processing and lighting.

I prefer second image, first seems to be too dark and person in center is hardly distinguishable.

This third image is my favorite, I like the small glitter captured here.

I like this image, the fern in foreground is nicely lit and gives the "anciency" feeling to image with moss covered rock "column".

    Another vote for colour!
