Playing around with Macro on the balcony. The flowers on this cactus are just a couple of mm wide.

Orchids are endlessly weird. Fine specimens.
The cacti put me in mind of some fiercely armed caterpillars 😁

REALLY COOL. A concrete base with glu-lam superstructure and translucent panels and a formed metal perimeter fascia? Wonderful geometry and quite complex. Excellent B&W subject. That's great!

II recently bought another GM5, now I own 2 of them and in total it is my 3rd GM5 😎 This one is red, which I’ve always wanted a red or olive green. It was advertised as spares and repairs because it doesn’t turn on. Someone else won the auction but refused to pay. He offered me the GM5 instead. It actually works perfectly, just with a 700 shutter count. It only needed a full battery. Unfortunately, it has a dead internal battery. The GM5 I sold had the same problem but after I left it with a full battery for a while it came back to life. If it doesn’t work I’ll replace its internal battery. It’s a simple procedure and I have a friend who’s very good with electronics repairs.

This is a SOOC shot, I used its Dynamic Monochrome filter.

I am adding another version, I edited this from the RAW file

The PP is just right and the IQ. You are laying on the ground again!!! VERY cool perspective.

    Strange Flowers

I went up into the foothills above Reggio to see how the Orchid season is shaping up.

I found a Ophrys Bertolonii Moretti Orchid growing near Canossa last year. I returned to see if it was present this year. Yes, three plants were growing. I missed them on my first passage along the footpath, I saw them on my way back.

I always enjoy flower pictures. Marco on the balcony -- it is always fun to horse around with things like that! The technical setup/bellows is impressive... with corresponding results!

A little outing exploring some local woodland. The mixture of ancient woodland and craggy rocks sticking up through it makes for some interesting pictures - to me anyway!

I like shimmeryness in this one.
I have a ship tracking app on my phone as I like to know where in the world the ships are heading and have been. It makes the world seem a smaller more connected place. Maybe I should get one for planes too.

These all have your trademark technical perfection. The second steals the show but there's something about the third that appeals. It's as if the boat is too tall to be going that fast but of course there's very little weight in that structure.

Yes, that's a beauty. The clean light and the pop of the sky with its dynamic clouds bring it to life.

That's really cool. I'm guessing it is a stitch? Or a super WA PC lens? The info below the image says "9mm" -- can you provide details in this regard (setup/assembly) as it is always interesting to know the back story. I found it on the map... only ~10 miles (15 km) from central Manchester as the crow flies. Also, I checked out the Wikipedia page... very interesting!
