    Himantoglossum adriaticum

I found this plant growing above Reggio last year. I went a month ago and I did not see it. I missed it at first this time too, and then found several plants growing, in a different place.

These are stacked pictures. The second shot is made from 50 separate shots. I used a carbon fibre tripod to keep the camera steady, and luckily there was no wind

    Passing storm

I woke early one morning this week and decided to head down to the 'moss' (local term for wetlands) rather than lie ruminating in bed. It has been a very hot week here but that morning there was rain in the air and some dramatic skies. There is a bird hide overlooking the ponds, which provides shelter from the weather, but means only one viewpoint is available. But it's not a bad one!

Nice. The Butterfly orchids are just coming out here, but there seem to have been no common spotted orchids this year, whereas last year there were lots. This is a known phenomenon apparently.
I presume the focus stack shots are taken automatically? Stacked in-camera or in post?

Great details in this stacked picture.
Macros often have such a thin DOF and stacking really helps!

I really like the timeless quality that this shot has.

A really nice set this week. I think this one with the swans is my favourite. Passing bad weather makes for some wonderful light sometimes.

My Z8+ Z105 has automatic focus shift, which can be a bit hit and miss. I have learnt the hard way to take a look at the frames to see that I have got the in focus shots I need. I then stack in post first using Capture 1 to convert the Raw files to JPEG or Tiff and then using Helicon to stack

I've also found that not all the automatic focus shift images on my EM5II are usable. I often have to delete a few from the series, so make sure there is plenty of overlap.

Very nice... and YES, I agree! I will post a flower shot momentarily -- and one of the reasons I decided to take the shot was because the air was still and the flower was not moving! :-)

Best friends are good to have, of course! The lady in this picture (facial features) reminds me of a best friend I had in grade school (when I was between 6 and 8 years old). Her family was Finnish.

Very dramatic and great balance with the transitional weather (dark clouds and sun on the geese/pond). This is the beauty of spring.

I noticed that there was No Wind (as NCV mentioned above) and a brief rain shower had passed overhead, so I went inside to get the camera and take a picture. Of course, more DOF would be ideal, but I don't know how to stack 50 images! LOL.

Nice shots of these delicate plants. First is my favorite from composition standpoint.
Some use clamps to fix plants against wind while doing macros.

Nice, the contrast between dark sky and some light patches on ground create quite dramatic effect.

Well, I aimed for that, used Perier simulation from year 1962 in DXO filmpack time machine for these shots. Worked quite well for first, probably thanks to low contrast this in shade scene provided, but not so much for others, had to modify them.

Water droplets with their own magnification of plant details work well.
