Wow. There is a lot to think about in that shot. I spent more time than usual looking over the entire photo. Very interesting.

I am still trying to figure out what it is. It looks like a robotic arm but I am sure it is not .

    In the Woods

    Haven't done much photography lately.
I have been joining with a group of local people with an interest in woodland, and yesterday we visited a small woodland owned and managed by one of our number in the South Lakeland area. It was a very chaotic treescape, and very interesting to hear how he had been managing it over twenty-plus years, but few opportuites for photos. Here are a couple that are more or less presentable!

These Small Leaved Limes blew over in a big storm some years ago, and they've been doing what limes do... regrowing and even re-rooting some distance away. The remains of the box attached to the trunk was originally for dormice, but never attracted any inhabitants.

Excellent shot - colours, shapes, shadows, sense of place.

I am at home recovering from an operation, so nothing new this week. But I am finally getting the last part of my 3 Blurb book set on the Tosco Emilian Apennine hikes done (It has taken me10 years!).

It is incredible just how much software has improved. I have reprocessed just about everything and even found some good stuff that passed me by. Here are some old Nikon D300 shots. With the AI tools in Capture One, a lot of pictures became usable too. Maybe I have got a little better at PP too.

It fun to go through the archives, and come across pictures that have been forgotten, in the constant churn of new pictures.

    BMW show in Bike fest

In Narva bike fest were lot of different BMW-s presented, from latest model to older and quite interesting ones.

What caught my attention with this car was the rear window, it was so big that at first I tought that it has no window at all and open from rear. So very different compared to modern cars.

Newest BMW model iX3 next to BMW Touring 2000. I find most interesting difference in wheels and tyres.

Gott mit uns? Given the reputation of BMW drivers here I think that many pray to God when they see BMW coming toward them :D

The waves are nice in the first, though I don't think the foreground adds much to the image.

The second is great! Action well caught, and the smiling face says it all!

I like the overall impression of the last, but the shadows seem to have been lifted too aggressively. There are lots of artifacts hidden in the dark areas, and ?hot pixels too. I can appreciate the reasoning behind f22 to get the rays, but this has seriously resticted the amount of light available for the rest of the image leading to the shadow problems. In an ideal world, it might have been possible to shoot two images, one for the rays, and another for the rest, then blended in post. BUt we don't live in an ideal world 😉

Yes, I often find myself reprocessing images when I look back for a particular shot from years ago. These all look wonderful and make me long to be there.
Hope your recovery is swift and complete.

It is a nice set, this is my pick but I think the sky's blue is too vibrant.

The second shot has a slightly sinister feel. I’m still trying to understand the purpose of the box in the first shot.

I like old cars' style and aesthetics. Today, more than half of the cars are SUV types, which I really dislike. Even sports cars look horrible to my eyes. Of course, there will be some exceptions, but in general, that's how I think.

The shaft of light makes this, along with the contrast between red and blue. An increasingly rare sight. Shame.
