    Komorebi

About month ago I saw Tatiana Hopper's youtube video about Japanese words which describe some phenomenons and how it is applied to photography. One of such words is komorebi, which can be translated as "sunlight filtered through tree leaves", but in general it describes play of light and shadows. However, my today's photos are showing this in literal way.

The photos are taken on east coast of peninsula, meaning that it is open to morning sun. In addition to that the location is couple of meters above sea level, meaning that it gets direct light from rising sun and reflected light from sea light, creating this luminous landscape. I attempted to convey it but seems to me that there is still something lacking. However, any further attempt to "enhance" these photos seems to make result worse, so I decided to stop here and maybe return to these images later with fresh perspective.

    Vapour

Mostly stuck around home again this week as building work on our house started in earnest. But with increased humidity, there have been some intersting 'cloud' formations, both above and below.

These are really lovely. You've captured that soft glowing light really well. And expanded my Japanese vocabulary!

There's deffo a street photographer in there. I'd have led with this one. And maybe on its own so the viewer doesn't have any context. I like it a lot.

These are beautiful. They seem to have a painterly effect. This one (or maybe the next) stand out. It's like a clip from a video game. Komorebi is a lovely word, going to try to remember it.

Two superb shots, although I think there might be even better shots in there with some P&P. The clouds in the first are astonishing.
