Another series that isn't abstract. IR-modded camera.

    What are the end results?

Prints hanging on walls. Exhibitions. I've printed these as small as 8x10 and as large as 30x40. Because they're stitched from many captures, there is a lot of detail.

    Maybe, but I'm not convinced.
The black frame is probably celebrated as an artistic design.
    We both know the answer.

The black frame needs to be cut away.
Because the camera was poorly executed out of hand for a panorama.
    It may be?

The black irregular frame was a deliberate choice.

I explained why I did it that way here:

    blog.kasson.com/the-last-word/celebrating-the-process/

So, that's not something we both know. I don't understand why you think I "know" it.

    Linda Hi,

I think you put this photo on Dpreview years ago before and I called it "a letter to heaven" or something. In any case, RoelHendrickx said that he couldn't get that approach/name out of his head when he looked at your photo..

That aside, it's a beautiful picture and I still enjoy it.

I don't know what the black space is. I suspect it is a result of framing multiples and stitching but I could be wrong.

    You're right.

Thanks for that link. I really enjoyed the article. You could use it to illustrate those threads about how photography can be used to create art.

You mentioned the artifacts created by shooting into the sun, a thing I've experimented with for years. Most aren't keepers but sometimes the artifact becomes a key ingredient. I bet you have some interesting results with this series.

A lovely casual portrait with the kids with a creative angle and an unusual compositional choice using a diagonal pose looking down at the photographer. I would guess such poses seldom work because often looking up at humans gives our most unflattering view. Here you executed beautifully and they are adorable. Monochrome is quite nice for this one.

I've admired your hops field collection for quite a while. They remind me of sheet music. It's a feast of geometry and rhythm for the eyes. Lines run in all directions but there is no chaos, they are all perfectly balanced. The arrangement of the poles in their offset rows plays visual tricks to make us wonder about the dimensionality of the scene. Are the poles receding, or are they set in matching triangles of soil? Are they embedded in the ground or suspended from the sheet music? For me the slanted pole whose bottom and top are not in the frame are the reality anchor that keeps me from getting lost in there.

And oh yes the colors are great.

    I love this image.
