I like the look of that building, I think you've caught it well with its interesting shapes and those reflections of the clouds in the glass.
Only comment would be that number 2 could be a bit brighter IMO
    Maybe like in this edit,...

This one gets me thinking what does 1513 mean?
I find it (perhaps irrationally) quite intriguing
    Nice colours too!

    Surprise
Recovering from surgery last week. Sometimes when I lack the wherewithal to take or even search the archives for a picture to post, I play Wednesday C&C Roulette, where I spin the LR catalog and wherever it lands, I re-edit/submit that one. This time it landed on a photo I'd never developed because it was so underexposed I couldn't even tell what it was. I knew from its tags that it was from a stay on Vancouver Island about 5 years ago. So I put the newest Lightroom tools to work on it and got a more respectable result than I figured I would. If you don't look too close...

It was definitely worth spinning the wheel to find this image.
Well composed, nice colours, lovely refreshing scene. Great to look at when it is so hot here at the moment

    Providance Canyon.jpg

Really nice image of a place I'd never heard of, so I had to look it up. It looks like something you'd find in Colorado or Utah, not in Georgia, but we have a similar geologic anomaly here in Mississippi. The south has some very old geologic oddities that are smaller but also less visited and less known than the western ones. Love the colors and the angle that shows the canyon while also giving us a detailed closeup and a distant look at the formations.

I am always torn about whether to include a narrow strip of sky as a you have, a larger piece, or none at all. Given that the sky looks like one of those rather hazy southern skies that lacks interesting color or clouds, I'd have chosen the approach you did, or none at all. I bet you found a treasure trove of interesting compositions in this location. It looks like one of those rare geologic sites that would work out well in monochrome, too, since there's so much variation in tonality. Most such places don't have that much range.

I prefer this one because I love how it transitions from the dark area into the brighter one and then into the sky. I would try to brighten the dark area slightly and increase the saturation a little bit overall, then I think it could be an exceptionally effective image!

Removing color leaves us the glowing, feathery soft parts to enjoy as texture, as well as to marvel at nature's complex constructions. Like it a lot!

The third is a little overwhelming for all that is going on, though it's good to see what you were working with. Of the first two, I can't choose which I like better. The close-up has intriguing cloud details and full blacks in the individual triangles. The more distant side view is awesome with its inclusion of the sky that caused those great reflections and the contrast of the shaded side of the building. What a photo op!

Viewed full screen, the details are mesmerizing. I am fully immersed in the time and place. The composition is utterly delightful, with the bike suggesting perhaps an unscheduled rest stop to take in the lake view. He appears to be an expert in how to find stability and comfort in a hammock. Love this photo!

(After reading your comment that you should have extended the right side, I disagree. I think leaving some things to our imagination makes for a more interesting and impactful photo, especially with the elements you showed being so strong.)

Just the kind of saturation I love, in order to feel the present warmth and relaxation in contrast to what's coming. Very effective IMO.

Very appealing scene showing the rugged rocks against more delicate young trees and their autumn leaves. A terrific composition that leads us from foreground to distance. My only niggle is that if I examine large and closely, the leaves seem to be over-sharpened. Strictly personal preference, of course, but could be interesting to see a version with them a bit softer.

Thank you. I meant a more selective approach so that the rocks remained sharper. I tried a few things to show what I had in mind, but failed miserably with my attempt 😐 I appreciate your time!

Absolutely gorgous - I love images like that. Such a fantastic example of effective use of color contrast and yet with enough nuance and feeling for the matter in order to be convinces that it was not only made for the purpose of being a sample shot. Excellent work!
