Great memorable shot, but i would crop bottom and top a little to accentuate the sun and some human activity on the beach...

Great series. There are stories and stories to each item. This is the most appealing - shape, colours, location. There is an air of mystery.

What you are showing us here is piece of history and b&w treatment is ideal representation of this period. Excellent.

We were in Mainz last week and decided to call into St.Stephan's church to see the Chagall stained glass windows again.

I am also curious but since Sagittarius followed Chrisoly’s advice, I assume thst he saw merit in the suggestion.

I personally do like the wider aspect: it yurns this really nice sunset into something truly cinematic!

The windows in ygemselves are a treat.
But the inclusion of the light reflecting on organ pipes to create an echo of verticality is what makes the image genius.

    I’ll have to visit Mainz.
Didn’t Chagall also designed the stained glass in Cathedral in Metz?

    Agree!

(And yes, we can see a personal documentary style in full development here!)

Here’s another of my “shadow selfies”, last week at the Iguazú Cataratas (Argentinian side):

Like the way the (double) rainbow is in the gorge, probably pointing straight at the point below where the pot of gold is buried.
And your "shadow selfie" looks good here. Sometimes our shadows look terrible in shots but this one works well

    On The Fence

We have two messy gardens at the country house. They have been in use, in one form or another, for over a century. Here's what a cursory walkaround turns up. I just leave this stuff where I find it, since someone from the 3 prior generations or 2 subsequent generations of my family put it there. I apologize again for living such a boring photographic life.

A part of a garden implement I would not know what to do with but must have to do with breaking up ground for planting. It always reminds me of a hand.

    _7190679.jpg

This place is a treasure trove! You've got a good eye for finding and bringing these things back to life.
All good, but I especially like the "hand"

    Wow, great stuff.
Taken 50 years ago and looking very good. I'm sure my "style" (what ever it is) didn't even exist 50 years ago.
I'd like to capture people working like this in my local village for our open air gallery but I'm not sure if the people would be prepared to allow themselves to be displayed.
I made a start with a sort of self portrait in this year's gallery. Maybe other's will be willing to follow the idea next year ??
I'll post that self portrait as my post here for this week.

    Self portrait of the photographer?

I set up my camera on a tripod 10 years ago, then posed next to a second tripod. I asked someone else to press the button, so technically, thinking of the monkey shot dispute with David Slater, I don't really own the copyright of "my" displayed photo. It was the monkey (Josef) who pressed the button 😁

The shot made it into this year's collection of our open-air-gallery in our little village of Pilsbach (Pilsbacher Freilichtgalerie)
Here's a shot of me standing next to my "self" portrait, as we opened the galley 2 weeks ago,... 10 years later.
This snapshot was taken by Gerald Fischer, so also not my photograph 😉

    I like this photo immensely.
It has several layers: the men working in the foreground, the man on the boat (as if he were supervising the workers), and the building under construction.
So, there is construction going on everywhere.
    Very interesting!

    I really like the photo.
I would crop the photo—starting from the top right and moving downwards—so that the windows occupy as much space as possible within the frame.
I assume there is an organ on the right that is reflecting light.
