post a link please specifically relating to histogram accuracy.

Look in the second Lenrentals raw exposure post, if you haven’t already.

edit, there is no camera histogram images.

There is one for the X2D.

The last image in that series is of a photo in Phocus preceded by: "But when we turn the clipping warning on, some of the flowers are tinged in purple". Unfortunately, there's no way for the reader to know what the highlight warning is based on because you don't say what threshold setting is being used. The screen shot would be more useful if the highlight / shadow warning tool was included to show what the warning is actually indicating is clipped or if that information was included in your text.

    I used the default settings:

Please, what's so important in this discussion that you are resorting to tricks? We are just talking, nothing life-threatening.

whats annoying is everyone is to lazy and gutless to there own testing, im not here to do all the running around, if anyone wants to prove my findings incorrect then be my guest DO YOUR OWN TESTING is that so hard or life threatening ?

What are you waffling on about?

You plagiarise someone else's work, fake your images and you have altered some of my posts in your quotes of them.

No wonder no-one takes you seriously.

This is the discovery, your histogram is RGB mine are not using live histogram. has your camera just luminosity live histogram ? and if it does ,does it match the rgb ?

The X2D doesn't have a live histogram. It computes the review histogram from the JPEG preview image, just like the Sony cameras do for live histo and review histo.

By the way, this is a serous omission which I hope will soon be fixed. The GFX 100S has a live RGB histogram.

I you follow Jim's site you'll find he does loads of his own tests with much more rigour and a level of experimental design that you likely couldn't conceive of.
(BTW, your daughter will probably tell you that a preposition is something that you should never end a sentence with. Sorry about that).

see, viewing my jpegs in FRV they are clipped quite a bit. but on the camera they show no clipping at all. so i disagree that sony cameras are using the jpeg for the histogram and zebras. but the funny thing is the blinkies do clip reviewing on the camera but the RGB histogram is not.

Jpeg or raw or other used for Histogram
lets also be realistic here. i had to use a jewelers loupe to see the end of the histogram then and shot the image with a macro lens.
please click on the camera histogram to get an idea how fine the scale is.

    Clipping.
Don't you see the difference between red (no clipping) and Y, G, and B curves?

The G and B channels touch the right edge - that means clipping (after applying WB obviously). There would have been to clipping had there been no touching, as in the R channel.
