These are lovely. The beech branches often put me in mind of swirling skirts.
I took a walk through the woods this afternoon but the bluebells were mostly past their best. I've been a bit limited in getting out lately 😕
f this was "before" your awakening, the stuff that followed must have been super! LOL. Because THIS is great. Fits today's reality. Where are we and where are we going?
Of course I like the ship picture. LOL! What are the destinations? Helsinki, Stockholm and Copenhagen? Out into the North Sea? Cruises are starting-up here, too. Destination: Southeast Alaska. I will try to get a cruise ship picture soon!
Very funny! I like your sense of humor. But look what you came away with! The flower. I always liked (and respected) Parkers. The arrow... classic. Can you post a higher-rez version of the light box? I'm interested. Is it a corrugated product? Foam Core? Opaque or semi-translucent?
I have enjoyed the pictures and the posts. I have done very little shooting this week, but I managed to get out one time last Monday 4/27. Briefly. I have a "new" (to me) 35/1.8G -- a 2nd hand lens that I have been fiddling with. I like it. It is a good lens. I took a shot of the ship with the 35, but it was a little "too wide" so I tried the 85/1.8 instead. When I drove-in to town for a business meeting at 6 AM, the ship appeared to be almost fully loaded with 4 cranes attending. THAT would have been a cool picture, but I needed to prepare for meeting. After work that evening, I drove over to my little vantage point.. but by that time, most of the containers had been offloaded. Seldom do I see the ships "empty" like this. It is always fun to GET OUT and shoot... take in the surrundings... and then fiddle in post. A great hobby. Also, having a weekly thread provides some good motivation -- even if I can't always get out for some dedicated time with the camera. THANKS Wormsmeat.
I see face here...
But about zero photo opps: I just recently watched youtube video about photography where the blind spot about local photography was discussed, the same "grass is greener somewhere else" issue, complaints even from people who live in photography bucket list locations. At least it made me to think about it and I try to do reset and look local locations with "foreigner" eye.
Technically such shots are challenging, with such great contrast it's hard to get good exposure, it's easy to blow skin tones and still leave darker places underexposed. I struggle with similar scenes when doing concert shots. But emotion is there and it's most important.
I googled bit and it appears that it's 14-day cruise sold as Scandinavian, though it's more about Baltic sea, with visits to Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland and Sweden. I guess "Scandinavian tour" sells better. Quite impressive ship with 18 decks and 330 meters/1083ft length. www.cruisemapper.com/ships/Sky-Princess-2154
