    Waxing Gibbous

With the hot weather this week, I've been heading out for a walk on our local fell later in the evening. The ox-eye daisies have been particularly floriferous this year, and the thought of 'moon daisies' under the moon appealed. I've always been a moon watcher, following it's track across the sky and, when we lived with a view of the Severn estuary, observing how its phases tracked the tides. The term 'waxing gibbous' is a phrase that always makes me smile for some reason 😀

    P6246775.jpg

Well, yes, the moon is there, but not very impressive...

    P6246776.jpg

    That's better 😁

As I began heading home, a pale ghost floating over the hillside caught my eye. I'm not equiped or skilled enough for bird photography, especially in dusk conditions, but I think you can make out our twilight visitor. These are heavy crops...

    Versilia

Photography was pretty much off the Menu laste weekend, but I got out a couple of times to take some pictures, of this endless beach with (costly) bathing establishments that stretch fo kilometres up the coast.

We were there for a concert. It was pretty difficult to see anything at times, thanks to the cretins who have to film the concert with cell phone held aloft.

We stopped in Barga on the way back as I wanted to see this thousand year old work of art, that I missed on my last visit.

    Near construction site and mural

On one Sunday some weeks ago I took stroll in Ülemiste. My main target was big mural which is created there but on my way I also took some shots of construction of Rail Baltica terminal.

    Approaching construction site.
    P6140002_DxO.jpg

One can see some outlines of terminal already.
    P6140010_DxO.jpg

On other side of road overpass over road is under construction.
    P6140014_DxO.jpg

    Rebaring
    P6140019_DxO.jpg

In some parts concrete structures seem to be already completed.
    P6140024_DxO.jpg

View to construction from other side
    P6140033_DxO.jpg

That is old mural, quite big yet pales in comparison to new one. Lower part is 25 meter high, width is about 60 meters, I guess.
    P6140040_DxO.jpg

Part of new mural, on longer side of same building.
    P6140045_DxO.jpg

    Other side of new mural
    P6140046_DxO.jpg

That mural building is adjacent to parking lot. I like how they separated parking spaces with greenery. I heard and saw lot of small birds in this greenery.
    P6140047_DxO.jpg

Full view of mural. I measured building length with GPS, it's 200 meters, total area of mural is ca. 5000m2. Later they plan to paint also upper part, adding another 2400m2. It will be great view to plane passengers, airfield is couple hundred meters southward.

    Hello Everyone!

It has been way too long!

I continue to be amazed at how busy I am in retirement. Life is going well. I have lost 27 pounds since January 30th, and I quit drinking entirely. I'm trying to make sure I am healthy enough to enjoy these wonderfully carefree days. I plan a 2-3 month trip to the Western United States this fall, where I can take lots of wonderful photos.

Here are three recent photos I have taken.

Great sky in the first one. Good to know the wildlife is finding a niche in all this new development - and that there will be some shade in future years for the car park. As temperatures hit record levels here this week I was bemoaning the lack of trees in our supermarket car park. Not only would they keep cars cooler, but also reduce the urban heat island effect.
