I'd say maintenance is well over time... The peeling paint and rust provide lot of opportunities for abstract shots.
From first shot seems like this black painted part is not metal, but some kind of fiber, probably to absorb bumps?

Great sky in the first one. Good to know the wildlife is finding a niche in all this new development - and that there will be some shade in future years for the car park. As temperatures hit record levels here this week I was bemoaning the lack of trees in our supermarket car park. Not only would they keep cars cooler, but also reduce the urban heat island effect.

The sky was great but it also meant that on my way back I got caught with rain. Fortunately I was prepared for that...
Those car parks are indeed heat islands under sun, fortunately more cities are realizing it and taking measures to avoid that, e.g. in some places they are covered with solar panels, providing some shade.

    Near construction site and mural

On one Sunday some weeks ago I took stroll in รœlemiste. My main target was big mural which is created there but on my way I also took some shots of construction of Rail Baltica terminal.

I enjoyed the shots of the rail terminal taking shape. Murals are fine new but when they fade?

That girl with umbrella was created 11 years ago, its colours are indeed faded, new mural is southward so it is even more under solar radiation. But taking into account how active the development in that area is I think that this soviet-era monster building will be torn down soon and some modern concrete and glass office building will be erected instead.

I think this pair show a better sense of their real nature than the other rainy day low light ones I posted a while back. I was surprised that I managed to get as close as I did. Their hearing is really acute. They could hear my footsteps in the grass from quite a long way away even as careful as I was, but keeping still when they looked up and otherwise only moving slowly got me where I needed to be.

We have an assignment for our Camera Club called "negative space". I was told by one of the judges that this is a good shot for that assignment.

    I really appreciate your critique!

    Yellow Farm Field.jpg

Nice shots, though first seems bit unbalanced, maybe cropping quarter or third from left would work better? Or cropping from top and making it "panoramic"?

It is pretty much the same for all our beaches. The traditional seaside holiday requires all the creature comforts like loungers and an umbrella. But most important of all is the bar and ristorante at the entrance, where in theory you should be able to have a good seafood lunch.

    Waxing Gibbous

With the hot weather this week, I've been heading out for a walk on our local fell later in the evening. The ox-eye daisies have been particularly floriferous this year, and the thought of 'moon daisies' under the moon appealed. I've always been a moon watcher, following it's track across the sky and, when we lived with a view of the Severn estuary, observing how its phases tracked the tides. The term 'waxing gibbous' is a phrase that always makes me smile for some reason ๐Ÿ˜€

Well, yes, the moon is there, but not very impressive...

I like this shot, it has a kind of vintage feel and very peaceful.

I liked the single tone view of the calm sea. Not sure if this works.

It does very well for me!

We were there for a concert. It was pretty difficult to see anything at times, thanks to the cretins who have to film the concert with cell phone held aloft.

I had to walk a mile to drop off my GM5 and 12-32 combo at a bag drop facility in Wembley for a football match. And to top it off, I had to pay ยฃ10 for the privilege!

    Hello Everyone!

It has been way too long!

I continue to be amazed at how busy I am in retirement. Life is going well. I have lost 27 pounds since January 30th, and I quit drinking entirely. I'm trying to make sure I am healthy enough to enjoy these wonderfully carefree days. I plan a 2-3 month trip to the Western United States this fall, where I can take lots of wonderful photos.

Here are three recent photos I have taken.

    G - Upper Falls and Lower Falls.jpg

Itโ€™s lovely to see you and hear your good news. The rapeseed field looks marvellous!
